Araneta City teams up with Coca-Cola for ‘Tapon to Ipon’ program

In line with the celebration of Earth Day this 2023, Araneta City partners with Coca-Cola in its mission to reduce plastic bottle waste in the country.

When you drop by the Farmer Plaza on April 22 and 23, you might see the cool PET bottle collection pop-up booth at the Activity Area. This special booth is for ‘Tapon to Ipon: Basta Klaro, Panalo!’, Coca-Cola’s nationwide program to collect used PET plastic bottles — regardless of brand — and have them brought to recycling facilities.

How does this project work? Just bring clear, clean, and dry PET-classified beverage bottles of any brand to the Tapon to Ipon pop-up booth. Surrender the bottle/s there, and in exchange, you’ll get freebies:

  • Five PET bottles = One 290ml Coca-Cola product
  • Fifteen PET bottles = One Araneta City Eco Bag

The collected clear PET bottles will be delivered to PETValue Philippines – Coca-Cola’s pioneering recycling bottle-to-bottle recycling facility in General Trias, Cavite. This recycling facility has the capacity to process approximately 2 billion pieces of clear plastic bottles made from PET material.

With programs such as Coca-Cola’s Tapon to Ipon, Araneta City will continue in becoming a steward of sustainable living by providing ways on encouraging employees and mall-goers in reducing and recycling waste.
