Araneta City exudes Christmas bliss with giant tree lighting event
Araneta City illuminates the holiday season by welcoming families and friends to experience the warmth of this festive celebration through its traditional giant Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
The City of Firsts lit its iconic giant Christmas tree in a star-studded festivity on November 14 as part of Araneta City’s “Christmas Bliss: Making New Memories” celebration for 2024.
“We believe the holiday season is a time to spread joy and warmth, and that’s what the City of Firsts embodies. With each light, every event, and all the decorations, we want all Araneta City-zens to feel the magic of Christmas,” said Marjorie Go, VP for Marketing of Araneta City.
This year, the giant Christmas tree is now located beside the Green Gate of Smart Araneta Coliseum, the tree's original location where the tradition began in 1981. Standing 75 feet tall, and 25 feet wide, the magnificent tree is adorned with 3,000 pine garlands, 8,000 bright lights, and colorful ornaments to make it the fitting heart and soul of the holiday season. It shines brightly between two equally iconic landmarks – the Smart Araneta Coliseum, and the Fiesta Carnival.
The highly anticipated traditional tree lighting event featured the appearances and performances of celebrities Vice Ganda, Fyang Smith, Kai Montinola, SB19’s Josh Cullen, IMOGEN, Kelsey, P-Pop Groups Wrive, and Bilib, with Jeremy G. and Lorraine Galvez as hosts. They were joined by members of the Araneta family, Araneta City executives, Quezon City officials, and Binibining Pilipinas 2024 queens in lighting one of the most iconic Christmas symbols in the Metro.
The event was made more blissful with the festive Coke Truck which delighted the audience with exciting surprises from Coca-Cola. The equally-iconic magical truck brought in additional fun through the Coke Truck HO HO HO activity, SHARE-A-COKE personalized bottle, and the cute care bins.
“This Christmas, we’re bringing together beloved traditions and new surprises to create a holiday experience that every visitor can treasure. Araneta City is more than a destination; it’s a place where happy and fun memories are made,” Go said.
Araneta City's 2024 Giant Christmas Tree Lighting event is made possible by Coca Cola, Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdog, Petron, Manila Bulletin, Daily Tribune, Novotel Manila Araneta City, ibis Styles Araneta City, Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen, and Taco Bell.
