Celebrate diversity, #InspireInclusion this International Women’s Day at Araneta City

Women are forces to be reckoned with. They can be leaders, athletes, scientists, thinkers, and mothers; whether at home or in the boardroom, they continuously transform everything they touch for the better while leaving a lasting legacy that reverberates throughout the generations.

That is why for this year's International Women’s Day, Araneta City is taking action to #InspireInclusion and celebrate women for all they are and all that they do.

“Women are central to all of our lives,” Marjorie Go, Assistant Vice President for Marketing of Araneta City, said. “They are an important part of our families and our society. And here at the City of Firsts, we want to showcase the work that these women do and how they are inspiring change in our communities.”

Photo booth, digital promo

For the entire celebration, parts of Araneta City will light up in shades of purple and pink. There will be a Count Her In photo op station where women can strike a pose and take amazing pictures or videos.

For those who'll take photos at the photo op station while doing the universal International Women's Day and post them on social media, they can even get lucky and win amazing prizes! Join Araneta City's Count Her In digital promo by scanning the QR code in the photo op area and posting the photo on Facebook or Instagram. Include the official hashtags #IWD2024 and #InspireInclusion for a chance to win gifts from Conti’s, Miniso, or Co Collectibles.

The winning entries will also be flashed on the massive Quantum Skyview LED of the New Gateway Mall 2 from March 15 to 17 and will be posted on social media pages of Araneta City.

On-ground activities

For a more meaningful celebration, the City of Firsts is hosting the 'She Made It' Art Exhibit from March 4 to 8 at the Quantum Skyview in New Gateway Mall 2. The exhibit features inspiring and thought-provoking artworks from 35 Filipinas who showcased their diverse talents and perspectives through art.

From March 8 to 10, women empowerment through entrepreneurship is taking center stage at the POP QC: Women’s Bazaar at Gateway Mall 1. A project of the Quezon City Small Business and Cooperatives Development Promotions Office (QCSBCDPO) and the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF), the bazaar will bring together female entrepreneurs with their products such as food and desserts, accessories, clothes, and many others. The bazaar selling will open with a ribbon cutting ceremony to be hosted by Bb. Pilipinas 2023 2nd Runner-Up Atasha Reign Parani and a special performance from the Quezon City Symphonic Band.

The showcase of creativity continues as a diverse group of empowered women headlines the Made by Her: Arts and Crafts Fair from March 22 to 30 at Gateway Mall 1. Spearheaded by the Gateway Gallery and Quarto Arts and Events, this arts and crafts fair will bring together inspiring women from different backgrounds to showcase their art and the artisanal items they produce. The event aims to shed light on the skill and artistry of Filipina artisans.

“All women in our lives deserve to be celebrated. Here in Araneta City, we are celebrating them and underscoring the need to include women in all aspects of our society. So come and join us as we advocate for greater inclusion of women and celebrate all their contributions to our homes, workplaces, and in our country,” Go said.
