Gateway Art Fair returns for Year 2 at Araneta City

After the success of its inaugural run last year, the Gateway Art Fair returns for its second edition in a bigger venue and with more participating artists.

With the theme “Bridge Connections”, this year's art fair will be from October 5 to 8 at the Quantum Skyview of the New Gateway Mall 2. Organized by the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF)'s Gateway Gallery to coincide with the celebration of Museums and Galleries Month, the four-day event aims to be a platform to showcase the talents of local artists, art groups, and communities alike.

This year, the Gateway Art Fair has a total of 14 art exhibitors, five participating schools, and five merchants gathered to show and express their talents through art. Apart from displays, the exhibits are complemented by shops and services selling their art and creative products.

The event formally opened with a ceremonial ribbon cutting on October 5. It was attended by the art exhibitors, art groups, art suppliers, and art enthusiasts alike, the Quezon City tourism department, and executives from JAAF and Araneta City. The ceremony was led by the University of the Philippines Los Banos Director at Office for Initiatives in Culture and Arts Jerry Yapo; Quezon City Tourism Department Head Ma. Teresa Tirona; JAAF Executive Director Diane Romero; Araneta City VP for Leasing Lorna Fabian; and Gateway Gallery Curator Gregorio Apolonio.
